What's a Purr-vert?

My lady peep says I'm one. I think it must be a good thing, because she always laughs when she says it. She says I have a shoe fetish. I can't help it...I love her shoes. They smell soooo good. Especially her running shoes, cause she runs through the park every day and across the high school football field now that the weather is warm. Every day when she leaves for her run, I sit by the front door and wait for her to come home. Then after she takes her shoes off and gives me and Sam the Dog a "hello, I missed you" hug, (which is also kinda cool) I make a dive for her shoes, stick my nose inside as far as I can and then me and the shoe roll around together for a while, while I inhale all the good outside smells.

My lady peep lets me do this for a few minutes, then calls me a pervert and takes the shoes away. She says she doesn't want me to slobber all over them up but I don't believe her. I think she hogs the shoes for herself and the man peep.

Oh yeah here's another really cool thing that happens in spring. (I wasn't born last spring, so I didn't know how cool spring was going to be. Now I know why all winter long, the lady peep kept saying she couldn't wait for spring to come). They got these things called birds, that fly around outside, and if you're lucky they land in the tree beside the peep's bedroom window and make these really cool sounds when they're talking to each other. I really like it when they do this about 4:00 a.m. Then, I sit on the jewelry box and scratch on the window until either the man peep or lady peep opens it and I can push my nose against the screen. I hafta be really quiet though, or the birds fly away. Sometimes I can't help it and make some growly sounds and scratch a bit at the screen. I try not to do that, because the man peep says he'll close the window and not open it again if I wreck the screen. I'm trying so hard to be careful, because this is just the coolest thing ever.

Birds are so cool! Our people sleep with the window open as much as possible and we go back & forth all night to take turns being lookout!
Tell your human that the foot is the most highly scented part of a persons body and when we sniff feet or shoes we are just breathing in the scent of our beloved humans!

Heyas Eddy! I found out about you on Petronious's blog. Welcome to the feline blogging family.

So you're a Maine Coon, eh? I won't hold it against you. The Mom has FOUR of them, which is tough for me, especially since three of them are boys. The two "Doofi" just turned a year old themselves and have discovered birdies. You must be having fun.

P.S. Can you come to my site and help me and the Mom decide what's she's going to paint on her mortar board for graduation?

Love, love, LOVE looking through the sliding glass door screen at the birds. Brach and I both like to chirp at them, which amuses our mother, for some reason.

She's probably just jealous that we can communicate with the winged ones.

I don't like shoes so much, but I do like my Dad's feet (but not Mom's). It's perfectly normal cat behavior, I think.

Love,
Tipper
