So the peeps went grocery shopping on the weekend like they always do. And like they always do, they said "if you boys are good while we're gone, we'll bring you home a treat." So I thought Hmm...what can I do to make sure I get a treat? I think you'll agree that I was being both good and helpful in all the following instances.
1. I practiced running up and down the stairs at top speed. I plan to set a new world record this year at the Cat Olympics. Unfortunately I slipped on the rug in the landing and it got all scrunched into a lump in front of the closet door.
2. I tried to teach Phinny how to jump up unto the man peeps dresser (for some reason Phinny doesn't like to jump up to high places). He usually misses his mark, panics and grabs onto the runner which he then pulls right off the dresser. Now it's not my fault that the man peep's hearing aids were on the runner and they fell off and rolled away under the bed. And it's not my fault either that the hearing aids made a really loud high pitched squealing noise when they get separated. And its certainly not my fault that Sam the Dog (stoopid dog) heard that noise, freaked out and did something really really bad on the rug in the bedroom.
3. I was being helpful when I checked the water dish to make sure the bowl was clean and there were no floaties in it. Turns out when I was fishing for floaties, some of the water in the bowl splashed onto the floor and left a puddle in front of the dish. Not a really big puddle, just a medium sized puddle, which someone named Phinny jumped in, and tracked all over the kitchen floor.
4. And finally, when I heard the peeps car coming in the driveway, I got ready to help them bring in the groceries. When the man peep opened the front door, I jumped up really fast and ran outside. Woo Boy, now that was really misunderstood. The lady peep dropped a grocery bag on the driveway....The noise of the pickle jar breaking startled me. Before I knew it I had jumped up into the neighbor peeps tree and climbed half way up to the top (no joking, its true...perhaps I should set a world record in tree climbing). Only problem is that I liked it up there and didn't want to come down. So instead of bringing in the groceries, the man peep had to go get the ladder from the garage, climb up there and talk me into coming down with him.
So, did I get a treat for being good....What do you think? Nope I did not.... But I did get a handful of temptations for coming out of the tree with the man peep. And, the lady peep said she bought a whole tin of sardines for me and Phinny to share....if we're ever good for one whole hour straight.
I'll be an old man cat before I get to taste them.

It doesn't sound like you did any bad stuff. That's all normal day to day stuff as far as I'm concerned. I sure hope you get your sardines.
EG
So Phinny knocked some stuff off the dresser and splashed water around the kitchen and the dog did something inappropriate on the floor and the lady broke a jar of pickles and YOU are getting punished? All YOU did was scrunch up a rug a little - no big deal, they can just put it back. YOU should get treats. THEY should not.
It's quite clear to me Eddy, that none of these things were your fault. You should get your sardines immediately!
George
Crap Eddy, you did nothing wrong. You march rite up to yoor mom rite now and demand yoor sardines. It is not your fawlt Phinny is such a clutz and the dog, well, I know a lot of dogs and they all have "accidents" when surprised. You did nothing but scrunch a rug. Beans can be so mean sometimes.~Zippy
Hey, Eddy,
We saw your link on Poppy Q's blog and stopped by to meet you.
Buddy is still open-mouthed and staring at your sardine story. He can't believe he has a feline counterpart. Buddy has the same problem. He never does anything wrong (HA!) but he's always in trouble with someone or other. Since you're both misunderstood, he thinks you could become great friends.
