Already this month I've had two long sleepovers.
First was when my peeps were on vaction in Boston. They sent me to Kitty Kamp, next door to the Doggy Jail where Sam the Dog goes. Kamp is sooooooo cool. I made a new little girl peep friend. Her name is Cassidy. This is a picture of her. She is 9 years old and lives all the time at the Kitty Kamp with her mom and dad and two big brothers. She visited me a lot at Kamp and said I am her favorite because I don't squirm around in her arms, or try to scratch her, when she's helping her mom clean my cabin.
There was one other cat at Kamp with me. His name was Jack. He was a big crybaby the first day or so. He cried all the time because he thought his peeps were never coming back to get him. Then, he decided to try to run away from camp and find them. Thank goodness the camp peeps caught on to his tricks and he never got away.
I had my own personal cottage at Kamp. Inside was a sleeping tent with a hammock bed, a private window with a great big ledge to sit on in the daytime and look outside. There was a real, real, climbing tree that I could climb on and it smelled like birds and outside. Wow!!! They also had lots of hidey holes and nooks and crannies I could squeeze into and jump out of. I loved kamp, except at night when it was dark and there were no peeps to sleep with. I even missed Sam the Dog a little tiny bit. But I didn't cry, not even once, except when I heard my peeps voice when she came to bring me home.
I love Kamp, but home is nicer.
The second time I had a sleepover was for a sad reason. My lady peep has two parent peeps. Her father was really really sick for a very long time - even before I was born. He had stomach cancer. The cancer finally used up all his lives and he had to go away to heaven. The peeps went home to visit him before he left so they could say goodbye. It was very sad. They was lots of crying and tears.
Because they're really great peeps, they were afraid that I would be traumatized if I had to go right back to camp after being home only one night. So, they asked their friends if I could sleepover at their house while they were gone.
They didn't tell me that the friends have a GREAT BIG DOG. WAY BIGGER THAN SAM THE DOG. He is called a Golden Retriever. He's usually very nice, and his name is Barley. I like him except at night when I'm trying to sleep and he's taking up too much room in the bed. I had to keep hissing at him to stop hogging the blankets and the peeps didn't understand what I was saying. They thought we were arguing and made Barley sleep outside. Serves him right. Stoopid Dog.
Barley doesn't understand privacy very well. I like it to be quiet and serene when I'm going to the potty or giving myself a bath For some reason, Barley thought that was the best time to stick his head inside my litter box and bark at me. Golden Retrievers bark really loud!! The first time he did it, I screamed blue murder, and scratched him on the nose really hard when I shot out of the litter box and up onto the railing in the loft above the living room. He was more careful the next time, but would keep on doing it once in a while, just to freak me out.
I think walking on the railings in the loft freaked out the peeps too. It didn't bother me much because I have great balance and poise. They told me if I ever did that again they would have a heart attack. I did and they didn't.
Anyway, I hafta go now and curl up with the lady peep because I think she might be feeling sad again. Her eyes are leaking and so is her nose. The man peep keeps clearing his throat and saying his allergies are bothering him.

Oh, I am sorry to hear your peeps are so sad. Please pass on our sympathies. We were wondering what had happened to you. I am glad you didn't mind Kamp too much. I have to go to Kamp sometimes too when my humans go on holiday. They are going to Boston in August, do your peeps know any good places they should go? I once had to spend Christmas in a house with a dog that kept trying to lick me. It was very traumatic, so I know exactly what you have been through!
My Mom was gone 3 whole nights, back fur 1, then all my beans were gone 2 while nites! I'm still not furtain they're stayin home fur good.
Our sympathies to your mom. Give her some fur and purr therapy from me, kay?
Your beans certainly found a better kamp than mine. They abandoned me to a drafty, stinky warehouse full of tiny cages where nasty woofies yapped my ears off fur a whole WEEK. The food was awful an I didn't like ANY of the beans there, so I wouldn't come out until my man came an got me himself. Now they haf a neighbor girl feed me, but that's not purfect, eifur.
{B&V's Mom: Bonnie exagerates about her 1 week at a kennel. She was fine.}
Wow, Eddy. Kamp sounds great, but that intrusion in your litterbox was awful. A guy does need a certain amount of privacy to tend to personal business! We agree...you and Misty look almost exactly alike.
P.S. Our Mom sends her sympathies to your peeps.
We always thought we were lucky to not have to go to camp, but we've had some pretty weird 'sitters' so if we could go someplace like you went, it might be ok. We're so glad you're there to curl up with your peeps and are so sorry they have such reasons to feel sad. -- Alberta, Sky, Blackie and Charlie
We're very sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept our sympathies and prayers in your time of need. However, take comfort in the thought that his spirit and memories are forever with you until you are together again.

Our prayers are with your peeps. We were worried 'bout you too...we hadn't seen you around. Now we know why.
